The PIE Theory: A New Idea About the Universe
The PIE Theory is a hypothetical idea that proposes the universe did not begin from a single Big Bang event. Instead, the universe may have developed through a process called PIE: Pulsation, Interaction, and Expansion. According to this idea, the universe continuously changes through different stages rather than having only one beginning.
The first part, Pulsation, suggests that space itself may experience cycles of expansion and contraction. Similar to how a heartbeat repeatedly expands and contracts, the universe could have its own enormous cosmic rhythm. This would mean that our current universe might be only one stage of a much longer process.
The second part, Interaction, proposes that different regions of space constantly influence one another. Gravity, energy, matter, and other forces could interact across enormous distances. These interactions could create changes that eventually lead to the formation of galaxies, stars, and planets.
The third part, Expansion, explains why galaxies appear to be moving away from one another. Instead of assuming that expansion began from one initial explosion, PIE suggests that expansion could be a natural stage of the universe’s ongoing cycle. The universe would therefore expand because of its internal cosmic processes.
PIE also proposes that what we call the beginning of the universe may actually have been a transition between two different cosmic stages. Before our current expansion, there could have been an earlier universe that eventually transformed into the one we observe today.
In this theory, matter and energy would not simply appear from nothing. They could have been transformed from conditions existing in a previous cosmic cycle. This would make the universe more like a continuous process rather than a single event with an absolute beginning.
The PIE Theory could also provide a different way of thinking about the cosmic microwave background. Instead of being only leftover radiation from the beginning of the universe, it could potentially contain information about a previous cosmic stage.
A major prediction of PIE would be that the universe should contain evidence of earlier cycles. Scientists could look for unusual patterns in cosmic radiation, galaxy distribution, gravitational waves, or other observations. If such evidence were discovered, it could provide a reason to investigate cyclic models more seriously.
