Idea for a new Internet search engine to complement Google
The following idea is for all Internet users who are dissatisfied with the general Internet search via Google because it does not return enough relevant web content and unfortunately many valuable websites on the Internet remain undiscovered.

Topic:
Search engines play a crucial role in using the Internet, as they find the Internet addresses to websites for the user. They show the user the results of millions of websites that match a specific search term. In addition to advertisements, images and videos, the results page for the search mainly consists of a link list that contains short descriptions of the websites. The descriptions are excerpts from the content of the web pages and serve as a decision-making aid for the user to be able to make a selection of web pages that match the search term or that correspond to the user's interests before clicking on a link. In this way, search engines provide a platform for websites to be found quickly on the Internet, because without the help of search engines it is cumbersome for the user to find out new Internet addresses.

Motivation:
Search engines such as Google and Bing are therefore an essential interface between the user and the huge amount of information that the Internet has to offer in the form of websites and files. Since they capture the unorganized offer of millions of websites on the Internet and make them visible and sort them for the user, search engines are constantly gaining in importance as the amount of information on the Internet continues to grow. As a result, search engines share responsibility for making the Internet as fair as possible in terms of freedom of expression and visibility of information. Because websites that are not mentioned for a specific search term in a search engine's list of links do not actually exist for the Internet user. So it is the search engines that, thanks to their popularity, decide which websites are found on the Internet and which are not, and the more Internet users use search engines like Google and Bing, the more decision-making power they have.

Target:
The goal should therefore be fair competition between websites, providing equal access to information. The design of fair competition opportunities by an Internet search engine may include, for example, the following points:

– When using a search engine, it should be possible to conduct a targeted or precise search that finds a wide range of information and thus covers a large intersection of different websites.
– The results of the link list should correspond to the search terms in the best possible way, in that the search engine includes all web pages existing on the Internet in the search and classifies the pages primarily according to their content quality and not according to quantity, e.g. the length of a web article.
– The search for websites performed by the search engine should always be consistent and objective and, if it is not necessary, it should not differentiate according to criteria such as device, location, region, IP address, browser or search history.
– No information should be withheld from the user, i.e. the list of web links must be complete and web pages that may be relevant to the user should not be omitted.
– The search results should be sorted by relevance and the user should also have other sorting options in order to prioritize the results in a meaningful way and make reading the list easier.

Problem:
However, it remains unclear in detail how today's Internet search engines actually proceed with the search and according to which criteria or relevance web content is sorted. The crucial point here is that the amount of information on the Internet is constantly growing and the competition among websites is increasing. This makes it more and more difficult for search engines to ensure that they display all the information available on the web and that the web links they select actually best match the search terms. The user trusts that the link list corresponds to the information available on the Internet, but it is not exactly comprehensible how the search engine determines the ranking to a search term from a selection of millions of websites and thus decides which web page gets the chance to be listed among the first hits of the link list in order to be seen by the Internet user. It is also not possible to check whether all possible websites are actually included in the search and whether the list of links is complete.

However, if the users are open to a new concept, which is described below, the Internet search can be optimized with regard to the problems mentioned. This is because the trend that the amount of information available on the Internet is constantly growing will probably continue in parallel with the worldwide increase in Internet users. As a result, the problem that a search engine may sort out websites relevant to the selection of web links in the search will continue to increase. A lot of valuable information is lost for the Internet user in this way, because the associated web pages are not found in the search results or are lost on the Internet.

Solution/ Idea:
To counteract this, the solution may be a new Internet search engine specializing in Google. The idea for a specialized search engine is not new, but there is not yet one that is meant to be a direct extension of Google. Google is a market leader in the field of Internet search and is by far the most popular search engine on the Internet today, both in the desktop version and for mobile devices. Therefore, when it comes to Internet search, Google is a benchmark and it makes sense to deal with Google's search results or take a closer look at them. Indeed, it can happen that relevant or similar entries are left out on Google and information that could be valuable for the Internet user is missing in the link list.

It is precisely this deficit that the new Internet search engine is intended to compensate for. Its task is to focus specifically on the missing search results from Google. All web pages that Google does not index or find and all entries and web content that are similar and are sorted out by Google or have a poor position in the ranking are included once again in the search of the new Internet search engine and thus get a second chance. In this way, the Internet user has a new opportunity to broaden and deepen their search and to discover new websites that are not found or displayed with conventional Google search. The functioning of this search engine therefore requires close cooperation with Google in order to exchange information and data for the Internet search.

The aim is to give the user a complete picture of information that is available and can be found on the Internet matching the search query. To this end, the way the new specialized search engine works is based on the goals mentioned above and ideally shows a complete list of web links that match the search terms. The sorting of the web links in terms of relevance is primarily based on the quality of the web content. The transparency of the search engine is paramount, and so that the user can understand how the search results come about, the search algorithms are disclosed, for example.

The design and structure of this new search engine should be correspondingly simple and transparent. On the start page of the graphical user interface there is no search mask, as is usual with Google and other search engines, but tiles with various topics for the Internet search. Only after clicking on a topic does a search mask appear, which is used to search for websites that can be found in the selected topic and match the search term entered. In order to correspond to the habits of Internet users, the search is structured just as simply as with Google. The difference lies only in an intermediate step which, before the search engine starts the search, specifies in which subject area to search for keywords in the web content. Compared to the general search, the topic-specific search makes it possible to find more search results because the search engine can search more precisely. This also ensures that no relevant web pages get lost in the mass of web links.
